Why an affiliate program?

From time to time, I (natetrue) make some of my inventions available as kits or as assembled products through my entries on cre.ations.net. As an incentive to web publishers to link in (and help me pay rent/buy food), I'm offering an affiliate program for publishers to share in the profits from my creations.

How does it work?

It's dead simple. If you want to link to a page on cre.ations.net, add /from/username (where username is your username) to the start of the URL. For example, linking to

http://cre.ations.net/creation/the-time-fountain

changes to:

http://cre.ations.net/from/natetrue/creation/the-time-fountain

When someone clicks that link, the referral is recorded and Buy Now links are altered to include referral information. Their length of visit and amount of pageviews are also tracked. When they purchase one of my products, the transaction is associated with the referral and your account will be credited.

With the affiliate control panel interface, you'll be able to review your commissions by any date range, check on the status of payments, and view various performance statistics.

How much does it pay?

Initial commission is 30 percent, and it grows as your performance gets better.

At $500 gross receipts per month, commission increases to 35 percent.
At $1000 gross receipts per month, commission increases to 40 percent.

These are percentage of actual paid amount (no fees or taxes are deducted before you get your cut).

How will I get paid?

Payments are made monthly to accounts totalling an excess of $20. In your control panel you can set your Paypal payment address, to which the payments will be sent within 30 days of the end of each month. If you require it, you can request that a check be mailed to you instead.

For tax reasons, if a payment will cause you to total more than $600 for the year (and I don't have your tax details already) I will send you an e-mail asking for your tax details (address, tax ID number, etc) and withhold payment until I receive the details from you.

Is it secure?

I don't handle your bank account details so your money is safe. Your login credentials on cre.ations.net are encrypted when you log on, so you don't have to worry about password theft. Even in the event of a database failure, the referrals are encoded in each Paypal transaction and can be easily reconstructed. You have nothing to worry about.

Where do I sign up?

To get started, all you have to do is head to the affiliate control panel and enter your Paypal address. Then you'll be fully enrolled and can start making referrals! Once you're enrolled, any Buy Now links that support referrals will have a link next to them saying (affiliate link). Use that link (it links to the page you're on) as your referral link on your own website. Then watch the money roll in!

Keep in mind that the affiliate program is in beta right now. That only means that some of the UI might be a little clunky, but I guarantee that you'll get paid for everything you refer.
