This is NOT my release, but enough of you e-mail me about unlocking iPhones that I figured I should blog about it. Thanks to George Hotz who released this method.

So, if you're looking for how to unlock your new iPhone right out of the box (as of the 1.1.3 firmware), head to this post at The Unofficial Apple Weblog:

Software-only Unlock for iPhone

UPDATE: Zibri released an even easier unlock. http://zibree.blogspot.com/

Hi Nate,

Can you point me to some instructions on how to downgrade from your 1.1.3 upgrade. I'm using stealthsim, but now that there's a soft unlock, I want to do that.

Thanks

Hello Nate,
The iBrickr 0.91 I downloaded from your site today is not working on my phone. I see several other copmments about the same with different errors so you got to help us all mate, as this is the best time for us to jailbreak those 4.6BL's we have been waiting for. PLEASSE. Thanks!

Took my OTB 1.1.2/ 4.6 and started to Jailbreak. Until I reached the iBrickr point. Here upon clicking the iBrickr.exe file on my PC, the iBrickr screen opened up with a message like this.- "iBrickr is trying to connect to your iPhone. If you have unplugged the USB cable, plug it now to connect your phone". My iPhone was connected already (no instruction to remove it) and my phone screen is now stuck with the recovery mode screen. The error message on iBrickr says "ex_findphone". The USB plug extending with arrow mark to ITunes is always on the phone screen. No matter how many times i repeated the process upto iBrickr, the screen wld not go away. Even after I removed the phone from its cradle, I am stuck with that screen. Wld you PLEASE help me? Is the iPhone workable or should I curse myself?
