Today was a long day

Finally, something to blog about! I caught a plane to Tampa, Florida last night (and boy are my arms tired!). Spent the whole night on a plane - it was terribly uncomfortable. In the hotel today (embarking on a sweet Caribbean cruise tomorrow) I got to test my Underwater camera enclosure in the hotel pool. Check out the photos!

The camera works surprisingly well under the water. The Lexan sheeting worked great and had excellent clarity. There were no leaks thanks to the thorough sealing of the Blue-tack compound and the well-ironed vinyl bag.

Of course, still photos are only worth so much. I captured a couple videos too.

Here's the first one I shot, demonstrating the excellent clarity and under/over water capability:
Here's me blowing a few bubble rings. It's hard because one hand is on my nose, and the other is on the camera, and I have no hands left to hold myself on the bottom!
Then I tried just floating the camera on the surface pointing down. You can see my bubble rings need some work. They're not nearly as perfect as Jesse can do them.
I'm going to do the whole snorkeling in a coral reef thing during the cruise so expect some killer footage from that. Unfortunately bandwidth won't be readily available (nor will it be cheap) on the cruise so it will be a week before it's published.
