Hey Big-up to Nate and all the guys who worked on this jailbreak, I confirm it works on a OTB 1.1.2 iPhone with Next Sim 2 card running on the Vodafone network here in Australia, the whole process worked seamlessly using OSX 10.5.1 (drag "run_this.exe" file into terminal to launch), and probably only took 15-20 mins. I was able to get locator to work in google maps by installing Navizon. You will have to reinstall OpenSSH and BSD subsystem to gain access to the system files again. Remember macintosh users to delete your old "known host" keys ("command+shift+g" in finder to open the file address tab, followed by the this command "~/.ssh"). You will no longer have the ssh icon on your sprinboard, but your login will still be "root" and your password "alpine" (if you never changed it when you jailbroke 1.1.2) when using an application like fugu to login. Once again, thanks for going live with this soft jailbreak, and not making us wait till the end of february or whenever the dev teams were were going to make us wait too...

hi spellbound, to edit it I use vi. You might want to try or read the basic manual. 'cause it's kind of difference. Here is what to do open vterm in your iphone, (make a copy first in case any problem) and type:

#> vi /var/root/Library/Installer/LocalPackages.plist

after the editior come up. type "/OpenSSH", this will search for OpenSSh, then type "k" until you see the cursor move up to the closest "<dict>" then start hitting "dd", which will delete a single line, now delete it including the next "</dict>". Then type ":wq" that should be it.

BTW, I also have the ringtone issue, anyone has a solution yet ? thanks.

Perhaps I am wrong? There seems to be a hand full on this site that is having the same issues and you and I. Reading all the small things that are not working like ring tones and Map locater maybe it is a good thing this is not working for us? I hear a lot of frustration in those words being written!!
The way I feel right now I just want to update the firmware to 1.13 in ITunes and get it over with! I had my fun in the last 2 months w/this jail broken phone and all the cool icons etc. Anyway I have working on this issue since about 10am this morning and it is 230pm, enough is enough!
DPS

Hey Kenadianz, plug your iPhone into your computer and turn it off (reset off if you have to by holding down the sleep/wake and home buttons). Then start holding both buttons again, and when you see the apple logo, release the sleep/wake and keep holding the home button. It should kick into DFU pretty quickly.

I was running 1.1.1, so I downloaded the firmware for that, and I held the option key when pressing restore in iTunes. That way I was able to select my chosen firmware and restore from there.

Hope that helps.

BTW, after a full restore I got 1.1.3 working, with the usual caveats, including no ringtones.

If you need your phone I'd not risk installing this buggy jail break even knowing some users have had success. It seems more and more users are reporting issues that may not get fixed anytime soon. another thing, you can easily update the fstab file with the file manager in iFuntastic, the installer file then works great. BIG GOTCHA THOUGH> Do not use iFuntastic again...stay away it will hose your phone and you will go back and start over again with a restore and you are f*ckd.

First of all, thank you Nate for the jailbreak, it works great. Got my 1.1.3 working fine. One thing with SSH, since the filesystem is updated, all the ssh file is gone, so one will need to install it again. However, after the upgrade, the Installer.app still think the OpenSSH has installed, and cannot uninstall, (got "Main script execution failed"). So what I did is re-install term-vt100, and vi /var/root/Library/Installer/LocalPackages.plist to remove the OpenSSH entry. So, for any new comer, I will suggest uninstall OpenSSH before you do the upgrade. So, after the update, you can install it without any problem. Thanks.

This worked for me with an unlocked iphone (ipsf) on tmobile.

The only problem was activating edge. what you need to do is after you run this process go to settings>general>reset and reset network settings. then you can enter your network apn.

Maps features, such as faux-gps doesn't seem to work. Nor does hybrid mode (only shows satellite view in hybrid). Pin drop does work though.
-Update. I was able to get the hybrid feature to work after holding down Home + Off button (button on top) till the phone reboots. After it rebooted the hybrid function works. To fix the faux-gps, I installed the app called "locateme" from the installer, ran it once. Then the Locate Me feature in Maps started working. So now my 1.1.3 phone is fully functional. I did find that if I restart my phone again by holding down the 2 buttons, I have to re-run the locate me app first to get the faux-gps to start working again.

 sorry i figured it out...
if you are having a hard time figuring it out, you need to open a program called terminal which is located in applications/utilites and then drag run_this to that window.
