Hey Big-up to Nate and all the guys who worked on this jailbreak, I confirm it works on a OTB 1.1.2 iPhone with Next Sim 2 card running on the Vodafone network here in Australia, the whole process worked seamlessly using OSX 10.5.1 (drag "run_this.exe" file into terminal to launch), and probably only took 15-20 mins. I was able to get locator to work in google maps by installing Navizon. You will have to reinstall OpenSSH and BSD subsystem to gain access to the system files again. Remember macintosh users to delete your old "known host" keys ("command+shift+g" in finder to open the file address tab, followed by the this command "~/.ssh"). You will no longer have the ssh icon on your sprinboard, but your login will still be "root" and your password "alpine" (if you never changed it when you jailbroke 1.1.2) when using an application like fugu to login. Once again, thanks for going live with this soft jailbreak, and not making us wait till the end of february or whenever the dev teams were were going to make us wait too...

Notice The image upload gets done instantly and after that I ran my 1.1.3 soft upgrade, it got done properly and rebooted with the shiny apple logo but into 1.1.2, do not know whats wrong. I did fstab. Still not working.

I was running 1.1.1, so I downloaded the firmware for that, and I held the option key when pressing restore in iTunes. That way I was able to select my chosen firmware and restore from there.

BTW, after a full restore I got 1.1.3 working, with the usual caveats, including no ringtones.

Has everyone got so excited they missed this very important message? If you need your phone I'd not risk installing this buggy jail break even knowing some users have had success. Installed 1.13 soft upgrade package, iPhone reboots but stays at 1.1.2.

Further examination at /etc/data shows that "113_upgrade_image.bin" is Zero KB.

Also, this is never copied to /private/var/root/Media/softupgrade/.

Any tips on what is going wrong and how to get it working would be much appreciated!

I was using Terminal from the MAC and doing the commands fromm the root
(BTW this ran fine: #!/var/root/Media/softupgrade/bash)

I had the same problem. Turns out certain 1.1.1 jailbreaks left noexec on the /var partition. Edit your /etc/fstab and remove that mount flag (if its there); reboot; and try again

What I found was that it never got to create the timezone directory (mkdir -p /var/db/timezone) - I did a create myself but that didn't make any difference

This worked for me with an unlocked iphone (ipsf) on tmobile.

The only problem was activating edge. what you need to do is after you run this process go to settings>general>reset and reset network settings. then you can enter your network apn.

-Update. I was able to get the hybrid feature to work after holding down Home + Off button (button on top) till the phone reboots. After it rebooted the hybrid function works. To fix the faux-gps, I installed the app called "locateme" from the installer, ran it once. Then the Locate Me feature in Maps started working. So now my 1.1.3 phone is fully functional. I did find that if I restart my phone again by holding down the 2 buttons, I have to re-run the locate me app first to get the faux-gps to start working again.
