This painting originally was meant to be one of a series of three paintings.... I had painted three same-sized canvases with a bunch of washes to try and make a good background for some other things, most likely birds, because I usually paint birds. Eventually, all three didn't look the same and I had to scrap the whole series idea. My mom likes orchids, so I thought I might try painting something for her. The end result is this... I'm not sure if I like it yet, but meh. It took me around 5 days or so to complete it, about 10 or more layers of paint: For your viewing pleasure.
