Accidental art : nasty wet fibers

All > "Art" > Photography > Photoshopped > Accidental art : nasty wet fibers by jesse
The accidental art series will uncover some found art from our natural environments. Things that normally even artists would throw away or try to clean up.

The top image is a nasty hair from my shower wall which I have used as inspiration for a piece of art that looks more like traditional art. Some people will have a hard time seeing accidental art AS REAL ART, until they see the inspired pieces first.

I took pictures of the walls of my shower. It was grimy, hairy, and a little slick. I was hunting the less than elusive "Fancy Fiber" a coiled, swirling, bent, or loopy strand of fiber stuck to the still wet walls of a shower. It comes from the faint wispy exhalation of lint floating in the air when you grab and initially unfold a towel, to dry your nakedness.
Then you find the best fibers and virtually frame them so that they can be appreciated as art.
I like to think of the rich stories behind each fiber. Each piece of dust. These came from towels, possibly from lint stuck to my body that was washed off during my shower. The clothes I wear come from all over the world to ride around covering my hide.
I am betting that each piece of dust in these pictures came from at least hundreds of miles apart. All of them were likely grown by a plant or from the skin of some sheep. Some may be pulled in a synthetic fiber factory.
I'm not sure how to find out what each fiber is made from or how it got to my house from where it started. I have no idea how to find out who first touched it after it was grown or extruded and where that person lives. I wonder if everyone who touched this fiber is still alive, or how they died, whether they are sick right now. I wonder if people who helped make this art on my shower wall are making love at this very moment, or whether I have seen them on the nightly news. They probably don't realize that they are secret artists.
