The next time you make a backup copy of a cd, don't just write the name of the band/album title. Why not draw something on it? Personalize it? It will make you appreciate that cd so much more, and you won't throw it around just because it's a copy. Here, see some of my examples. Oh, and if you haven't heard these bands, you should.

You should get some CDs with a white or blank surface (not a sticker) so you can have a cleaner canvas!

Thats a great idea, but these were all I had, and I was stuck in a server room, in sensory deprivation on a work trip. White walls, a white raised floor and stuck inside a cage. I have my music, my mind and the internet to amuse me while I wait for things to update. These are a product of one of those trips.
