Book of the Dead

All > "Art" > Sculpture > Book of the Dead by frohickey
I wanted to have my own "Necronomicon" so I used a plaster casting of a rubber Halloween skull and an old hardcover novel I got at a dollar store and went to work. Some of the gems adorning the cover are actually fancy plastic buttons from a fabric store. The interior has been hollowed out to hide whatever will fit (mummified monkey paw, sacred amulet or in my case, a compact watercolour set)

Here we will see the mysterious interior of the dread book...
Prepare yourself for the horror....
The Watercolour Set of Nyarlathotep!
... and Winsor Newton Cotman.
Update! Here is the piece as it appears on the cover of On-Spec; I just got this copy last week.

Wow, you're just a creation-posting machine today! Never know when you're gonna need an evil watercolor set.

The magic of the water color set is that it can only paint in dark colors.
