Custom photo Rubik's Cube

The stickers on my Rubik's Cube had gotten shifted out of place and were of generally poor quality. So I decided to make a new surface for it.

See how the edges of the stickers were coming up?
I tore all of the old stickers off.
Then I printed up a template on sticker paper with images for each side, color themed to match the old Rubik's Cube colors. The red side is feathers, the blue side is water, the white side is lizard skin, the orange side is wood, the green side is a plant, and the yellow side is nascent coral.

I cut each face out individually and protected it with clear tape.
Here's the finished product! I added a distorted image to each face so that when viewed on the corner a three-lobed Archimedean Spiral appears.
Here's the other corner. The spiral is on these as well.

With the photo stickers the Rubik's Cube is harder to solve, because not only must the colors line up, the center pieces must be of correct rotation.

It's awesome! Though, the only Rubic's Cube I've been able to ever solve is that ALL RED one that Jesse has/had.

Thanks Aliya. After I published this the stickers started peeling up after only a little play. I had to redo it, with smaller (14mm) sticker size and protect it with a clear coat of glossy spray enamel instead of clear tape. Works great now!

WOW! You are brilliant! I tried doing this before for my son, who loves playing with the Rubik's cube. Do you think that you can send me the format of it? It's very hard for me to get it all alligned.

Thank you.
