Dr. Seuss inspired "Unorthodox Taxidermy" creature

This sculpture is called the "Tufted Jorje". It was created from a door knocker board, a sock, a coat hanger, a rabbit pelt, a boar's tusk, sculpey, and paint...oh and some tin foil. I saw the "Onorthodox Taxedermy" sculptures by Dr. Seuss and couldn't afford to pay $2,000 for a replica, so I just made my own.

These are some of the replicas for sale from Dr.Seuss. As you can see, they are of quite a similar style. The cool thing about these sculptures is that (in the originals only) real animal parts were included in their construction. The sawfish was a real sawfish saw, the Andulovian Grackler has a toucan bird beak.
My sculpture uses a real boar's tusk and rabbit fur.
He looks so peacefull hanging on the wall. I really like it.
Here is an above shot so you can see the modeling better.

Yes I copied his idea, but the whole thing cost five bucks and took five hours to make. It is about a foot tall.

That's very cool. You could make those for 5 bucks and sell them on EBay for 50 or even 100 I bet!

Highly professional piece... do you do this sort of thing for a living?
Nice work

I don't do this for a living, some have told me I could, but I also haven't done enough pieces to get into any gallery or to interest a manufacturer that I know of.
