Luma Hoop System

All > Tech > Inventions > Luma Hoop System by illuminator
This is a passive and active basketball hoop lighting system. It started with just the rim but now includes the ball and backboard.

While I was growing up I can remember playing alot of basketball. The evening would turn into the night and everyone kept on playing; shooting at a nearly invisible rim. Sometimes a guy would turn the headlights of his car on, or someone would set up a big floodlight to keep the action going. I don't know which was worse, not being able to see the rim because it was to dark or not being able to see the rim because a huge floodlight was blinding me while I was shooting.
I remember thinking it would be cool if just the rim would light up so I could shoot at a glowing ring of light.

Check out the video below

You can turn your basketball hoop into a LUMA-HOOP ! I now make the Luma-Rim for ($24.00) which you can fasten onto your existing basketball rim with transparent straps that I provide. Once you fasten the system onto your rim it simply turns on and off with a water proof battery pack. You can fasten the battery pack onto the pole of your hoop for easy access. I supply the glowing basketball as a complimentery iteam for ($15.00). I supply the backboard accent tape as well. ($15.00)
buy now on my website http://lumanation.info/Luma_Hoop_system.html I accept major credit cards and paypal.
The original version of the Luma-Rim I developed in 2002. It consisted of a l.e.d based light sorce
and a side emmitting fiberoptic cable. I have now created a more durable and easier to install version of the Luma-Rim. If you want check out the next video for a brief history of the Luma-Rim...
