Sculpey Me!

All > "Art" > Sculpture > Sculpey Me! by julian
Sam, Esther, and I were playing with Sculpey clay, and I decided to make a tiny me. It's really hard to peg what makes a face look a certain way, so he ended up looking like maybe a tiny cousin of mine, but I am satisfied. Making myself spanned about a day, but really maybe only 4 or 5 hours including cooking time. Maybe 6. It was fun, and now I know how I'd look if I were anemic!

What?! He can stand, too?
Why yes, he can! I gave him a wire skeleton. (I it's think copper, since I scavenged it from the inside of a vacuum cleaner, but it doesn't conduct electricity. That might be why it was broken.)
Anyways, I twisted the wire too much so he's a little too difficult to pose easily.
His head and hands are all baked Sculpey that have little tiny holes poked in them to fit his "bones" into. I poked a toothpick in and wiggled it around, so the folded over wire knobs are held in well by friction.
I sowed the pants from some old jeans, and the shirt from some scrap fabric my mom had.
The pants I sowed off his body and put on him. The shirt consists of three tubes (torso, two arms) sown together on him, since I don't think he'd bend enough to put it on.
His shoes are my real-life shoes! Yay!

Ahhh...it's time for a nap.
