JamStudio.com - The Online Music Factory

Created by lauren 1 year ago: "http://www.jamstudio.com JamStudio.com is a flash based web app that let's ANYONE create music easily and quickly, for free.

The developer got the idea to make this because he has been a musician his whole life and loves to help people record/produce their songs. He wanted to create a way for people who don't have access to expensive recording equipment and studio musicians, or don't have time to learn to play multiple (or even any) instruments to make professional quality songs. After lots and lots of programming and recording, JamStudio.com was born.

People have used http://www.jamstudio.com JamStudio.com as a sketchpad for songwriting, as a full backup band when theirs isn't around to practice (or if they don't have one!), to make demo songs, backing tracks, karaoke tracks, and people have even made backup tracks for spoken word with it. Lots of people have registered for free, and it's fun to listen to everyone's songs in the forums.

We have had tons of fun working on..."
Read the rest of this post

Fruity Loops is pretty easy to use program for making music with synthetic instruments provided by the program, or with recorded sounds. It is extremely fun just to play around with, even if you have never had any kind of involvement in making music, it is usable. So I installed a 30 day free trial, and began recording sounds of everything I could think of that might sound interesting. I just used an old handheld tape recorder, nothing fancy or expensive. I recorded random people talking in public, I recorded animals, and my friends etc... Some of my favorite sounds I recorded were of two crystal glass bowls that I rubbed against eachother, and also my Japanese saw which is used in every..."
Read the rest of this post
