We originally built the frame around the landscaping tub in our old apartment so we could have some fish and a small waterfall, but then I took it to my next house and built the bridge and decided to put my computer stuff within it. It is really cool to be able to watch the water flowing underneath your computer as your working or messing around, and we had a pretty good little ecosystem going on in the landscaping tub at one point (after I got tired with the fluorescent..."

<![CDATA[Pillowcases: Now for BABIES!]]> Created by peanut 6 years ago: "This project is a set of 2 baby pillows for my sister's new baby. I hope she doesn't frequent creationsnet, because I'd like this to be a surprise when I give it to her in a week or so. For the background, I used various cotton fabrics and the bunnies are felt. I was pretty pleased with how they turned out, as this was my first real quilting project...."

<![CDATA[Scaly CD Door]]> Created by denhaz 6 years ago: "This is a spare time project that can be achived slowly over time or faster depending how light fingered you are and your definition of "Take one". Over time spare CD's, from magazines I'm never going to read again and games that are never going to be played or sold due to lazyness, have been piling up in my room. I realised after a while that there is a limit to the amount of CD coasters you can own and planned to throw them away, until I realised this was a complete waste. Using double sided sticky pads a row of CD's was stuck to the door, each one overlapping the last and working from bottom to top to give a scaly effect. This was slowly added to as time progessed and CD's were collected. On top of my random useless CD collection as many free AOL trials have been "actively aquired" as possible without raising too much suspision from shop workers and now my scaly CD door has finally taken..."

<![CDATA[Glowing Google Pens]]> Created by natetrue 6 years ago: "Inspired by my friend Sparky's recent http://codeforfood.org/2007/12/30/you-know-you-have-become-an-adult-when/ LightStik purchase, I decided the idea would be simple to replicate with pens in a pen stand (and as a bonus, they would also be pens). So taking a 5-pack of Google pens that I got from a recent http://seattlemind.com Seattle Mind Camp and 5 3mm ultra-bright white LEDs, I set out creating a luminary masterpiece (that's also pens!). The pens are powered by contact with the holder (a jar with some foil on it), so as not to mess with batteries. Realistically you might be able to use electromagnetic induction to power the lights,..."

<![CDATA[Cat Sprayer]]> Created by nathanh 7 years ago: "How to keep you feline from scratching your valuables. This purpose of this device is to deter your cat. When the cat crosses the path of the light from the diode to the photo transistor, the pump is activated and sprays whatever is in its path with water . I built this cat sprayer to keep my cat Mia from scratching at the carpet trying to get into the room waking us and destroying the carpet. The video below shows Mia trying to enter the room. The first time she was sprayed she jumped about 3 feet in the air. Now she is quite used to the sprayer and seems to test first if it is on, but she doesn't attempt to scratch anymore...."

<![CDATA[Not-So-Free Fountain Table]]> Created by mpv 7 years ago: "The creation of this fountain table came about because I had simply acquired a free fountain pump while working for a lawn and landscape company. The fountain was created last summer. I physically hauled the rocks up from Lake Michigan where my wife helped me pick them out. The smaller rocks come from various trips (honeymoon, etc...) that we've taken. This is my first piece of furniture that I have ever made. I think it turned out very well even though there are a few mistakes. I have learned to check and double check all cuts, measurements and saftey stoppers. A free pump has cost more than someone could really expect! This table is made from Red Oak solid and ply woods, and is put together with dove tail joints. It is strong enough to hold all these rocks and about three gallons of water! Also, there is one black bucket, one pump, a broken up mirror, a mister with LED lights and two submersible hallogen finger lights. More pictures and details about how to create a..."

I used buscuit joints everywhere and it's all strong enough for an adult to jump up and down on. ..."

<![CDATA[ceiling-mounted childrens furniture]]> Created by fbohmann 7 years ago: "when i moved into a nice old flat with a ceiling at roughly 3.5 meters height, i decided to put something stupid to the ceiling. strolling through ikea, i found those childrens furniture pieces made from plastic, and bought them straight away. i also bought a simple lamp to put on the table. the chairs and the small table were diy-kits, so they consisted of parts anyway. the caps on the feet were perfect for my plan, since i could pre-mount them to the ceiling, and then attach the rest of the objects later. so for each object two opposite feet were mounted to the ceiling with just a simple screw, the lamp was mounted to the table, and the whole thing put up. the feet were secured with little nails that i put through the area where both parts match. the lamp was then connected to the mains outlet, and photos were taken. i have to admit that it looked even better than i had imagined, everybody visiting loved the the thing, and some people responded to the upside-down picture with..."

<![CDATA[funky gravity room]]> Created by brenda 7 years ago: "Jesse and I wanted to make a sideways room for a music video. So, we attached a chair and a basket to the real wall, hung stuff on the adjoining wall sideways, and layed foam core and paper on the floor to look like a wall. The chair in the corner is just resting on the ground. We lit the room sideways to be more convincing. I rotated the picture below so that you can see what it all really looked..."

<![CDATA[Hanging plant watering system with level sensor]]> Created by codiy 8 years ago: "OK, so this isn't exactly landscaping, but I figure it's close enough (and the prospect of being the first to publish in the category was neat!) My wife and I enjoy hanging out on our covered patio for meals, or just on nice days to read, etc. One of the things that makes the space nice (and, coincidentally, obscures the view of our neighbor's yellow house and RV) is hanging plants. Unfortunately, neither of us is what one would call a green thumb, and we travel a lot, so the poor plants that we'd put out there would eventually dry out and die in a sad, sad way. My wife, therefore, asked me to figure out how we could have plants and not have to worry about watering them... The solution I came up with was to use the Blumat watering system and devise a way to supply water to it. This is the story of the water..."
